A whole new brand

Nestled in the scenic Lompoc Valley in Santa Barbara County, The Roots Dispensary first opened its doors to eager customers in September of 2019. Since then, The Roots has established itself as the premier cannabis dispensary in the entire Central Coast. Kreatip Media has been a dutiful partner of The Roots Dispensary since its inception, helping them establish their brand through social media and traditional marketing, customized digital assets, SEO-optimized and user-friendly website, and custom- branded apparel for their customers and employees. By engaging with ownership, management, workers, and customers, Kreatip created a robust ecosystem of customer acquisition and retention. Our efforts helped make The Roots Dispensary the highest rated cannabis dispensary in Santa Barbara County on both Google Maps (4.9 stars out of 400+ reviews) and Weedmaps (4.9 stars out of 1,100+ reviews).

Social Media Assets:
Social media is perhaps the most powerful marketing tool in the 21st century. Yet cannabis posses a unique challenge as it is a federally regulated substance and therefor often runs in conflict with the ToS of social media sites. Kreatip Media navigated this precarious environment through carefully crafted posts that stayed within the bounds of the terms of service but also encouraged turnover from digital engagement to physical sales. This included the creation specially crafted and regularly scheduled promotional and motion graphics, lifestyle photography and videography, product shots, and even a “Roots Loyalty Card" to reward return customers. Kreatip Media leverages these tools to create social media marketing campaigns aimed at retaining existing customers and acquiring new ones. Customers and employees of The Roots Dispensary are constantly sharing photos and videos of their experience at the store on Instagram. Kreatip has been able to harness this user-generated content (UGC) and repurpose it into marketing collateral such as website graphics, email blasts, and even printed advertisements.

Website: Kreatip Media also built and maintains The Roots Dispensary website on the WebFlow platform. The goal was to create a user-friendly, informative, and visually appealing website that would be the go-to resource for anyone looking to learn more about cannabis or purchase product from The Roots. The website features a clean and modern design that is optimized for both desktop and mobile viewing. The site includes an online menu of products, an interactive map showing the dispensary’s location, as well as a form to sign up for The Roots Loyalty Card program.

Analytics: During our work with The Roots Dispensary, we used marketing analytics to identify weaknesses and opportunities in their marketing strategy. We found that while The Roots Dispensary had a strong presence on social media, they were not utilizing other marketing channels effectively. Additionally, their brand recognition was low, and their SEO was poor. As a result, Kreatip Media recommended that The Roots Dispensary focus on increasing their brand awareness through traditional avenues like print and radio to capture a different base of customers. We also improved their SEO via copy writing and creation of blog posts for their website. Thanks to Kreatip Media's analysis, The Roots Dispensary was able to make the necessary changes to their marketing strategy and see significant improvement in their overall marketing efforts.
